TurnItIn : How to Submit Papers

A guide to using TurnItIn

Using File Upload

  • Go to Turnitin.com and sign-in using the email and password you used to create your account.

  • Click on the title of the class you need to submit work to.

  • Once you locate the assignment, click on the submit button.

  • Select Single file upload

  • You must give your paper a title to proceed

  • Click on Browse to locate the file on your computer or flashdrive

  • Once you have located the file, click upload.

  • You will get a chance to preview the uploaded file- make sure you have uploaded the correct one! Then click on the submit icon at the bottom of the page.

Using Google Drive or Dropbox

Directions for Google Drive will be similar for Dropbox.

After file is selected, Upload and Submit 

Using Cut & Paste

  •  Go to Turnitin.com and sign-in using the email and password you used to create your account.

  • Click on the title of the class you need to submit work to.

  • Once you locate the assignment, click on the submit button.

  • Select Cut & Paste upload from the drop-down menu at the top of the page

  • You must give your paper a title to proceed

  • In a different window, copy or cut the text of your document.

  • Return to the Turnitin submit page and paste the document into the space given to you:

  • Once you have successfully pasted the text into that space, click the submit icon at the bottom of the page.
