If you click on “patient education” under the Contents tab you arrive at the screen below that contains a list of topical headings.
UpToDate provides two levels of patient information.
1. the basics, which is a short article written in plain language.
2. beyond the basics is for individuals who want more detailed information and have some understanding of medical terms.
This information can typically be emailed directly to the patient or printed at the point of care. The same patient information can be discovered within a document accessed in the database by a keyword search.
